Client Integration
A client-facing extranet places several self-service tools at the client's disposal, maximizing the availability of key information while reducing the time and effort the forwarder spends answering client inquiries.
The extranet provides clients with the flexibility to:
• Submit commercial invoice data
• View quotations by date range, port, container number, company reference number or customer number
• Submit requests for quotations
• Retrieve and modify their contact information
• View billing information
• View a tracking log for a selected contact
• Create B/Ls that can be modified and approved online
• Create new contacts based on information on existing contacts reducing redundant data entry
• Obtain shipment status as soon as it is entered into the system
XML APIs can be used to extract information directly from the client's legacy system, creating both a substantial value for the client an administrative shortcut for the forwarder. Commercial invoices and packing lists, for instance, can be created by the client and transmitted to the extranet where the relevant information is automatically extracted.
Data is migrated throughout the freight software system, automatically populating several documents that require part or all of the information submitted by the client. The potential exists for the client to complete up to 80% of the forwarder's initial administrative tasks.
