In order to meet the requirements of the 2002 Trade Act all trucks crossing into the U.S. will need to submit Advance Manifest Information through the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Truck e-Manifest service. Truck Manifest submissions will be mandatory in a phased roll-out as of September 2006.
Both customs brokers and truck carriers may file manifest information with CBP. However the trucker will ultimately be responsible for the accurate transmission of the manifest making it imperative that truckers have a timely and reliable solution for electronic manifest submission.
